The Honourable David Elliott

The Honourable David Elliott is a distinguished leader with extensive experience spanning government, military, and public service sectors. He completed his education at Christian Community High School, Regents Park, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Asian Studies from the University of Western Sydney, along with a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy and a Master of Arts in Communication.
David’s early passion for politics led him to join the Liberal Party at the age of 16, where he embarked on research roles within Senator Bronwyn Bishop’s office and later served under the Hon John Howard OM AC. His career then transitioned to the NSW Police Media Unit, where he contributed to high-profile operations such as Task Force Air.
In 1995, David’s commitment to service led him to join the Australian Regular Army, where he rose to the rank of Captain in the Australian Army Public Relations Service after graduating from the Royal Military College, Duntroon. He later assumed key roles in industry and government, including Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Contractors Federation (NSW) and Director of the Castle Hill RSL Group.
David’s political career flourished when he was elected to the 55th Parliament as the Member for Baulkham Hills in 2011, subsequently taking on ministerial responsibilities encompassing Corrections, Emergency Services, Veterans Affairs, Counter Terrorism, Police, and Emergency Services.
As Minister for Transport, Veterans Affairs, and Western Sydney, David’s leadership continues to impact communities across New South Wales. In May 2023, David was appointed Chief Executive of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (NSW & ACT), further extending his legacy of public service and leadership.
