Dr Abdullah Omari
Managing Director, Middle East and Africa
Dr Abdullah Omari (MBBS(Hons), MMed, FRACP, FRACMA, DDU (Vascular), Certified – American Board Vascular Medicine (ABVM), PhD, FSVM, FACC, FAHA) is the Managing Director, Middle East and Africa at Barker Henley Global Group.
A distinguished leader within the healthcare sector, Dr Omari possesses a deep understanding of the region and is highly credentialed with degrees from the University of Sydney, including a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (Honours) and postgraduate degrees such as a Master of Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He is a renowned Specialist Physician and is a fellow of numerous prestigious societies within Australia and North America.
As a healthcare leader, Dr Omari serves as the Head of Vascular Medicine and Senior Staff Specialist at the renowned St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. His passion for leadership and business led him to become a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA). He has held senior leadership roles including Executive Clinical Director and also Director of Medicine of the St. Vincent’s Health Network.
Dr. Omari possesses extensive business skills in strategic planning, business development, finance and budgeting, as well as research and innovation. His expertise in governance, policy, and regulation has earned him a position as a practitioner member of the NSW Board of the Medical Board of Australia. Additionally, he has served in advisory roles for both state and national agencies. Academically, Dr. Omari holds appointments as an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Notre Dame, Australia, and the University of Technology Sydney.
Dr. Omari’s comprehensive experience, leadership qualities, and deep understanding of the region bring a unique skill set that is collaborative, inclusive, analytical, and outcomes-focused.
