Maurice Newman AC, with a career spanning over 50 years in stockbroking and investment banking, has held prominent leadership roles as the former Chairman of Deutsche Bank Australia & New Zealand, the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Additionally, he served as the Chancellor of Macquarie University.

Currently, Dr. Newman serves as the Chairman of Melon Pastoral Pty Ltd, Australian Digital Holdings, Hydrecyc Pte Ltd Board, Hydrecyc Holdings Pte Ltd Board (HHPL), SCG Heritage Trust, the SCG Heritage Foundation, The India Century Round Table, the Australia India Business and Trade Foundation, M Value Capital Advisory Board, and the Australian Fathers’ Day Council.

In his capacity as a Director, Dr. Newman contributes to O’Connell Street Associates Pty Limited and the Sydney Cricket Club. He holds the position of Senior Corporate Advisor to the Marsh & McLennan Companies, serves as the Patron of Mateship Australia, and is a Member of the SCG Members Advisory Committee, Advance Australia Advisory Council, ADC Advisory Council (Australian Davos Connection), and CEDA Leadership Council.

Dr. Newman’s extensive advisory experience includes roles as Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council in 2013, Chair of the Singapore Australia Business Alliance Forum, Chair of the Australia Taiwan Business Council, Director Tiger Airways Australia, Honorary Professor in Public Diplomacy at the Soft Power Advocacy & Research Centre, Macquarie University since September 2012, and Emeritus Professor at Macquarie University since 2019. He has also served as a Trustee for the Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust and Chairman of the Bradman Foundation. Dr. Newman holds the distinguished title of Honorary Life Trustee of CEDA.
